Meet DJ Miss Behaving
If you hear a little laughter, a great tune and a burst of energy first thing in the morning, you could well be listening to DJ Miss Behaving on Love Soul Radio London’s Wakey Wakey Breakfast Show.

Miss Behaving was born with rhythm in her feet—quite literally, as she arrived two months early, weighing “about a bag of sugar”! Dancing soon became a big part of her life. Following in the footsteps of her aunt and grandparents, she trained in ballroom and Latin dancing and went on to win plenty of medals.
There was a studious side to Debbie too. After leaving school in 1982, she stayed on to take her O and A levels—earning “two ologies”, as she puts it. She also completed a sailing proficiency course on Matchstick Island, where one memorable lesson involved capsizing alongside the vicar. It’s safe to say her life has never been short of a story or two.
Travel became another great love. A girls’ holiday to Santa Ponsa in 1985 turned into an unexpected adventure when Debbie was offered a job. She returned home, handed in her notice and was back in Majorca within a month. That was the beginning of a lasting wanderlust. Since then, she’s explored places including Australia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, Dubai, Oman, Cape Verde, the Greek Islands, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and the Dominican Republic—with plenty more still on her wish list. When she’s not dreaming about her next trip, she enjoys pottering in the garden.
Debbie’s route into radio began around 15 years ago, when a good friend told her he had started a station and was looking for a woman presenter. Her first test was a two-hour live show on Christmas Day—and she managed to cook dinner for ten as well! She got the job, Miss Behaving was born, and a new love took hold: sharing music with listeners.
That love of music runs deep. Debbie’s favourites include Barry White, Luther Vandross and Maze, and she has a particular fondness for the classics, especially jazz-funk. She also loves soulful house reworks from Frankie Knuckles and Carl Cox. Her rule is simple: if it makes you move, it could be going on the playlist.

The Wakey Wakey Breakfast Show brings all that enthusiasm together. Expect feel-good music, lively company and a presenter who wants to help listeners start their day with a smile.
For Miss Behaving, a good day is simple: great music, good company and the chance to put a smile on somebody’s face. And at Love Soul Radio London, she feels she’s found the place where she truly belongs—a real home for soul music and a home for her, too. That sense of happiness and belonging is a big part of what keeps her coming back to the microphone. She’s made Love Soul Radio London her home, her forever home.

Tune in to her Wakey Wakey Breakfast Show and let Debbie bring a little sunshine to your morning.
